Introduction, Recommendations and Barrier Free Functions
One of the most famous spots in Yokohama; it’s a park by the sea that stretches for about 1 kilometre from near Osanbashi Pier to Yamashita Wharf. It’s full of tourists all year around, and it has different views every season.
Opened in March, Showa Year 3, the park was made using the debris from the Kanto Great Earthquake. It has a lot of things to see, such as the view of the sea, some monuments, and epitaphs. The views of the Yokohama Bay Bridge and the ferries leaving and arriving at the port are romantic. It has the statue of the ‘Girl with Red Shoes’, familiar as a children’s song. It’s also famous for having lots of monuments that show rich interactions the city enjoyed with foreign countries. Also, this park is a famous spot for roses, and loads of roses bloom at ‘Mirai no Baraen’, or, the ‘Rose Garden of the Future’ every spring and autumn.
At the waterfront, in the middle of the park, there’s a boarding point to the Hikawa-maru, an in-port pleasure boat.
With accessible toilets installed at three different points, it’s a Yokohama famous spot where anyone can visit at ease. See the other documents for these accessible toilets.
