Introduction, Recommendations and Barrier Free Functions

Two jetties which were made in time of Yokohama port opening, having changed their roles according to the needs each era, are called Elephant’s Nose, because of their bow-like shape. In order to create a place for liveliness and interaction utilising the fact that this treasured area is rich in history and symbols, they completed with the squares and the fields as the first fundamental stages, and on the 2nd of June, Heisei Year 21, the year of the 150th anniversary of the opening of the port, it opened as Zou no Hana Park. The rest house ‘Zou no Hana Terrace’, which also serves as an art gallery, organises cultural programmes like events on a regular basis.
It’s an outdoor facility with the stairs, but it also has ramps for wheelchairs.
・Braille information boards are in the rest house ‘Zou no Hana Terrace’, in the lavatories, and on the information boards outside.
・ Accessible toilets are in Zou no Hana Terrace, which is also available after the terrace closes. There are separate toilets for male and female, which have sliding doors. They’re available from five a.m. to nine p.m., and they’re compatible with ostomy facilities. Their seats are large, and adults can use them, also. There’s a luggage rest in the accessible toilets.
